CULTURE - HISTORICAL RIO DE JANEIRO
Get to know the historical Rio de Janeiro by foot using the public transportation when needed. You will be picked from your hotel and head to the subway station either by foot or by bus depending on the location of your hotel. Together with local guide you will get an introduction to the Rio de Janeiro of the old days. The first stop will be the monastery of São Bento, a master piece of barroc architecture from the XVIIth century with breathtaking wooden interior covered of gold. Next stop will be a visit to the Candelaria Church and after that we will head to the so called Cultural Corridor with several buildings from the XVII to the XIX centuries and end up to one of the landmarks of Rio, the square of Praca XV Novembro. Passing by the narrow streets of the center we end up arriving at Confeitaria Colombo, the first tea house of Rio, a perfect place for light snack or delicious refreshment in a charming atmospheare of Belle Epoque. Return to the hotel will be done by public trasnportation as well.
